Sunday Sketch with Veera

It's Sunday and time for our weekly Sunday Sketch challenge! This week you'll have another fun sketch to work with!

Here is the sketch:

I intepreted the sketch loosely this time. When I saw this sketch I immediately noticed the triangle shapes. The stickers from Sprinkles kit had also these fun triangle shapes I knew I had to use them!

Another thing that I wanted to use this time was pattern paper as my background. I almost always use white cardstock as my background so this week I wanted to change things up a bit. The subtle pattern paper by Pinkfresh Studio was the perfect solution for this!

I hope you have fun with this sketch! To play along with this weeks Sunday Sketch Challenge and be eligible to win a $5 gift certificate to the CTK Store, create a layout based on this sketch and post it in our gallery with today's date (9/24) in the title.

3-to-Inspire Challenge with Mira Jurecka

Hello Citrus Twist Kits fans!

Today I have a 3-to-Inspire Challenge for You, and it will be all about fresh, bright and colorful memories! Are You ready?

This is a challenge for those of You, who need a little extra creative push to get scrapbooking, to keep scrapbooking or for those who just like a challenge! Your take on this challenge can be a layout or a PL spread and remember that you'll want to include all 3 prompts on your project.

I created a Pocket Life page with the summeriest pictures that I took on vacation this year and obviously made it as bright as possible with the use of September Pocket Life  and Sprinkles Kits.

So my three prompts for this week's challenge are:

1. Create the brightest project You have ever made
2. Use yellow color to cheer Your project up even more
3. Use the word love at least one time

Here's the word love that I took from the colorful hello-card that was included in my kit. I placed it on the grey journaling card and decorated it all with a piece of washi tape from Sprinkles Kit.

I chosen six bright photographs to build this page foundation and made one of them a perfect place for the spread title:

Yellow cards and elements added a bit of color to the pictures and made the final page even more optimistic.I hope You like it!

Now, it's your turn! Use the three prompts to create your own projects and share them with us in the CTK Gallery and/or on our Facebook Fan Page by Saturday, September 30th, for a chance to win. You can also upload to Instagram and tag us @citrustwistkits. Have fun!

September GraceBox with Jessy

CTK_Sept_Grace_1.jpg

Hello again! I'm so glad to be back here to share with you 3 bible pages that I've created with the September GraceBox kit. This month's theme is all about Strength and it sure lifted my spirit when I spent time going through the verses I'm creating with. I really love all the mixture of patterns and elements + all the fun and bright colours that come in this month's kit. It sure sped up my creative process with all these amazing products packed into a kit!

Don't you just love those CTK exclusive die cuts?! They worked so well together with the other amazing products in the kit!

I really love the verses on the journal cards and those verses actually led my direction in creating on my bible.

Hope you are inspired to create on your bible today! Thank you so much for coming by.
Xoxo Jessy

September Main Kit - Crazy good

Hello lovelies! Anna here to share another page made with the gorgeous September -Twin Fall- Main Kit. I decided to keep it pretty clean with just black & white and yellow and a few pops of gold.

I've made the background with one of the free CTK cut files. I just copied them a few times and made the phrase in a few different sizes. Then I just backed it with a ordinary white cardstock. I really like the white on white effect, it's eye catching without stealing the whole show.
The white leafs under the ephemeras also are a free CTK cut file.

Ohh, that golden glittery arrow Thickers is awesome. The "crazy good" text is a one of the fabulous clear stamps that comes with the Main Kit every time. A new set every time, fantastic!
Also I'm in love with those lovely labels from the Cutapart Sheet that are included every month in the Main Kit.

Those awesome butterflies are divine, they are from Pinkfresh Studio. The whole Ephemera package is amazing.

That yellow paper under my photos is one of my favorites this month, it's a CTK exclusive paper and it's fantastic. I've used it for almost every page this month, lol!

Hope you've got some inspiration now and be sure to grab one of our lovely kits in the store.

Sunday Sketch With Leigh

Hello Friends! Leigh, here, with a belated post for this past Sunday, the 17th. Sorry, friends!

A coffee house graphic inspired this page. and I punched several of the patterned papers from the kit with small scale punches.

September 17th Sunday Sketch.

Since I chose a complementary (colors opposite each other on the color wheel) color scheme, I used a lot of neutral black and white on the layout. I love the Citrus Twist Kits sketches, and they make designing a page effortless.

The close up shows how I layered the punched pieces and the green patterned paper (the B side of the Maggie Holmes Carousel "Sweets" paper) from the kit was used for the leafy bits.

Followed the sketch pretty closely and added the typed journaling strips under the Pinkfresh Studio Die Cut.

The photo layers were created with a label from the cut apart sheet, leafy punched bits again, and the red-orange paper from Pinkfresh Studio "Escape the Ordinary" collection.

Thank you for visiting today!
Hugs,
Leigh

Scraplift Challenge with Emma, Trina & Anna

Hi scrappy friends! Emma on the blog today to share a little scraplift challenge between Trina, Anna and I.  There can often be some contention around scraplifting - is it good thing to do, is it bad?  I personally think it's a fabulous way to try something that you might not normally do.  It's also a great way to get a page done when you might be struggling with creative "mojo".

I also believe that if you are sharing your pages publicly, then the nice thing to do is credit where your design came from.  And I'm pretty sure 99% of scrappy people out there will be super chuffed to see/hear you took inspiration from one of their pages, I know I would be ;)

So this week we thought it might be fun to share a couple layouts that are based on a scraplift - to see just how much looks the same or different!

Both Anna and I worked with a page created by Trina. Trina's layout is actually using the October kits, so this post doubles as a sneaky peak for you all too. Win win!

Trina's layout

This is such a fun scrap lift challenge! I jumped ahead and worked with the October Scrapbooking and Pocket Life kits. Here is my layout.

Here is a sneak of some of the October kit elements:

After I sprayed Colorshine on my background and stamped and typed my journaling I began building up simple layers of pattern paper to put behind my photo. Next I added paper die-cuts and ephemera to the right of my photo.

Next I tucked ephemera underneath the base of the photo/layers and used pop dots to raise some of the die-cuts.

Here is a close-up of some of my layering and embellishing.

We can’t wait to see your scrap lift project!

Anna's layout

I'm so happy that Emma asked me for this challenge, I love scrap lifting!! It's like having a conversation, you give and take and it end up in something different but with someone else's opinions into it.

Trina's page was a blast to lift. I lifted the design but centered mine a little bit more and I lifted some details as the flowers under the photo and the use of labels . I think you are a able to see Trina's page in mine but that I've done it my own way, lol!!

Thanks so much Emma and Trina for the lovely inspiration!!

Emma's layout

First thing that popped into my head when I looked at Trina's layout (other than October kits are looking SO GOOD!!) is a grid.   I see 4-section grid with top left = photo, top right = heading, bottom left = embellishments and bottom right = journaling.    I have to admit - I love, love, LOVE grids.  I find they are a super fun and easy way to put a layout together.

I've flipped the order around a little but it's still a grid with 4 sections (atleast that's how I see it, haha).  Instead of a title on the top right I went with a little cluster of embellishments.  That fox die-cut from the Pocket Life kit is the cutest!

I popped my journaling on the bottom left and went with a cluster of stamps on the right!  (I'm so enjoying using stamps right now; can't believe I've ignored them for so long!).

And there you have it - 2 scraplift's from one page and they both look quite different!  So even though we've scraplifted Trina's page, both Anna and I ended up with pages that look different and that's one of the things to love about it - although you scraplift a specific page, you still tend to work your own spin on it and end up with something different anyway (just like a sketch really!).

Thank you so much to Trina for the inspiration (and the sneaky-peek of October kits, yayay!) and to Anna for playing along with me on this one.  Hope you all find some inspiration from their pages as well!

Take care, Em xo
